Sri P R Ramamurthy Ji was the author of this website. When he started this website in 2009, he was in his eighties. He was able to publish such a great number of posts in limited time of 4 years. We appreciate his enthusiasm for Sanskrit Literature.
I will like to mention that, despite his age and weakness, etc. he was fully aware. That’s why we don’t find many errors in his publications.
He had chronicled his life in ‘ My Story’, a blog authored by himself.

एतद्द्रष्टुमशक्यमेव मनसा मूढस्य मे मौक्तिकं
मार्गं दर्शयतु प्रदीप इव ते मन्दस्मितश्रीरियम् ॥३९॥
Sir Please explain the meaning of mouktikam and significance of the word at that place and why the author has used muktika (pearl) at that place ? Is there some other meaning for the word mouktikam
मौक्तिकं मार्गं = path for मुक्ति i.e. liberation. Here मौक्तिकं means relating to Mukti or liberation and not peral
Sorry, I deleted the comment relating to ‘Yaksha Prashna’ unwittingly but I am explaining here below what the visitor to the blog asked me:
दाक्ष्यमेकपदं धर्म्यं दानमेकपदं यशः।
सत्यमेकपदं स्वर्ग्यं शीलमेकपदं सुखम् ॥५१॥
धन्यानामुत्तमं दाक्ष्यं धनानामुत्तमं श्रुतम्।
लाभानां श्रेय आरोग्यं सुखानां तुष्टिरुत्तमा॥५५॥
Though दाक्ष्यं has the meaning of दक्षता = smartness or dexterity, that meaning will not be appropriate in the about contexts. The other meaning is ‘generosity’ i.e. large-heartedness, capacity to accommodate other view points, to forgive and to give liberally etc. which is more appropriate in the context. Dexterity or skill in doing things cannot be the basis of dharma and it need not be a component of good character
Dear sir, I thank you for your reply. Many years ago, my guru had enlightened me on this very verse and the larger meaning of dakshata was explained which made a lot of sense and gave me proper perspective of 'smartness' necessary for judicious and equitable society. It gave me a perfect sense of many otherwise unexplained deeds of avatars. For example, why a generous and benevolent mahaa Bali was needed to be exiled, why generous and 'nishkapat' karna needed to be eliminated etc. There is a whole lot, I would like to discuss with you, preferably on your Pvt email. My email is [email protected] I would just like to state that re-reading of our holybooks with that meaning in mind would greatly clarify many deeds of bhagavan. Smartness, is not to be taken here in the derogatory or street-smartness sense. In personal mail, more on why the lie or while-lie of Yudhisthir was not 'asatya'. Sir, What is the meaning of the sanskrit word "chakrika" and I would like to know meaning of the name Sri Hari Chakrika and whether the word chakrika can be used here ? I dont have knowledge in Sanskrit. I have the highest regards for you. I request you to kindly suggest me a name for baby girl on Goddess Lakshmi and containing the word "Sree".
The following are some of the names for Goddess Lakshmi:
लक्ष्मीः पद्मालया, पद्मा, कमला, श्रीः, हरिप्रिया, इन्दिरा,
लोकमाता, मा, रमा, मङ्गलदेवता, भार्गवी, लोकजननी, क्षीरसागरकनका
As far as I know chakrika denotes a wheel. You can use हरिप्रिया if you like or one of the other names. Or look up Lakshmi Ashtottara satanamavali for a suitable name
