JAMBUNATHA ASHTAKAM

                                         जम्बुनाथाष्टकम्
               
(श्रीधरवेङ्कटेशाचार्यकृतम्)
Jambunatha, presiding deity of Jambukeshwaram (Tiruvanaikaval in
Taminadu), is an aspect of Lord shiva. 
The Linga here is known as appu (water) Linga which is continually
inundated by water from all sides. The other four lingas representing the
elements are in Chidambaram (akasa -space), Tirvannamalai (agni – fire)
, Kalahasti (Vayu – air) and Kancheepuram 
(prithwi- earth).      
कश्चन
जगतां हेतुः कपर्दकन्दलितकुमुदजीवातुः।
जयति
ज्ञानमहीन्दुर्जन्ममृतिक्लान्तिहरदयाबिन्दुः ॥१॥
श्रितभृतिबद्धपताकः
कलितोत्पलवननवमदोद्रेकः।
अखिलाण्डमातुरेकः
सुखयत्वस्मांस्तपःपरीपाकः ॥
कश्चन
कारुण्यजलः कमलाकुचकलशकषणनिशितशरः।
श्रीमान्
दमितत्रिपुरः श्रितजम्बूपरिसरश्चकास्तु पुरः ॥३॥
शमितस्मरदवविसरः
शक्राद्याशास्यसेवनावसरः
करिवनघनभाग्यभरो
गिलतु मलं मम मनस्सरशफरः ॥४॥
गृहिणीकृतवैकुण्ठं जम्बूमहीरुहोपकण्ठं।
दिव्यं किमप्यकुण्ठं तेजस्तदस्मदवनसोत्कण्ठम् ॥५॥
कृतशमनदर्पहरणं
कृतकेतरफणिति चारु रथचरणम्।
शक्रादि
श्रितचरणं शरणं जम्बुद्रुमान्तिकाभरणम् ॥६॥
करुणारसपरिधये
करवाणि नमः प्रणम्रसुरविधये।
जगदानन्दनिधये
जम्बूतरुमूलनिलयसन्निधये ॥७॥
कञ्चन
शशिचूडालं कण्ठे कालं दयौघमुत्कूलम्।
श्रित
जम्बूतरुमूलं शिक्षितकालं भज जगन्मूलम् ॥८॥
